Allerdale Bike Challenge

This event has been held locally for the last five years and they regularly get 50 -70 riders turning out on a Wednesday evening.  They attract some of the local cycling ‘stars’ right down to kids and their parents wanting to have a go.  The event is as tough as you want it to be.  This year they have some big name sponsors and the prize list will be approaching £2,000 in value.

Their philosophy is to run low cost events that raise a bit of money for charity and that are accessible to all irrespective of ability age or type of bike.  The venues are all cafes or pubs that will be serving food afterwards making for a social occasion as well.  Further details can be found on their Facebook page.
